2026 SJPO and SPhL

Thinking beyond the classroom, one problem at a time!
Our students have achieved commendable results in two physics competitions, demonstrating their analytical thinking, curiosity and enthusiasm for exploring the world through physics.

At the Singapore Junior Physics Olympiad (SJPO), 85 of our students took part, earning 1 Silver Award, 12 Bronze Awards and 14 Honourable Mentions. Their achievements reflect their efforts in applying physics concepts and working through challenging questions.

In the Singapore Physics League (SPhL), a team-based olympiad involving more than 1,774 participants from secondary schools across Singapore, our students also performed well, with 1 team earning a Bronze Award and 4 teams receiving Silver Awards. These results celebrate not only their physics knowledge, but also the collaboration and collective problem-solving that underpin team competition.
This was my 3rd year participating in SPhL with my team, but the first time SPhL included a live grand finals for this category. Going into the finals, we were a little nervous because reference to online resources was not allowed, unlike the preliminary round and previous year’s competition. However, my team didn’t put much pressure on ourselves or each other, but genuinely took this opportunity to have fun as a group. Whenever we got 1 question right, we would celebrate together and congratulate each other on being able to solve these questions. Through managing time constraints, splitting up the work, and supporting each other through challenging questions, we got stronger as a team each year, and had such a great time bonding. I’m so grateful to my teammates for the past 3 years of SPhL.— Rita Kaur Vaidyanath (414)
Congratulations to all our students on their achievements! May they continue to stay curious, ask questions and discover new possibilities through physics.
