🔬 Celebrating our young researchers!
We are proud to share that research papers by four of our former students (current Y5s) have been accepted for the IRC Conference on Science, Engineering and Technology (IRC SET) 2026, an annual multidisciplinary research event bringing together young researchers to share their work and exchange ideas.
Featuring various schools, polytechnics and universities, this annual conference is a platform for young researchers to put their work in the spotlight and be part of a wider community of scientific discovery.

Reflecting on the experience, our students share:
Our research journey has been a meaningful experience. RGS provided us with the foundation and opportunities to explore our interest in research and we continue to use the RGS laboratories to conduct our research even after moving on to RI. We are especially grateful to our research mentor, Dr Lim Ai Khim, whose constant guidance and support has helped us overcome challenges, refine our methodology and develop a deeper appreciation for the research process.— Lakshana and Hanaka
Our research journey was one of adaptability, defined by the pivotal shift from coffee beans to soy protein as our bioplastic base. RGS enabled seamless access to specialized lab equipment and promptly procured any necessary chemicals which allowed us to experiment creatively and push scientific boundaries. Under the invaluable guidance of our mentor, Mdm Cindy Tiong, we refined and successfully executed our project. This journey was all the more rewarding when our work culminated in a Silver Medal at the VJC A*STAR Fair 2025 and our paper was accepted into IRC-SET Conference 2026.
