What’s in My Backyard? 2025

9 April 2025

Year 1 students took part in *What's in My Backyard*, a Service-Learning initiative to connect with elderly residents and school staff. Read about their experiences and reflections from community partners.

Feedback from our partners:

HCA Hospice

The students were flexible when they were requested to make changes to their plans to suit the abilities of our patients. We appreciate the effort the girls put in to plan the activities for our patients and tried to go beyond their comfort zone to interact with our patients.

NTUC Health

Students from the various classes did put the seniors' needs ahead of them showcasing empathy through their interactions and activity engagements. The students have enabled our seniors to gain the reach of the community in a friendly and caring manner towards the seniors.

FaithActs

The seniors appreciate the interaction with the students and the effort put in, recognising that most of them may be doing such chores for the first time. On the whole, the students have a very good attitude - willing to try out even if it’s out of their comfort zone.
