Game On: Our Team Among the Top 8

Organised by Science Centre Singapore (SCS), National STEM Championship: Game On brings a fresh and dynamic spin to the traditional STEM competition, while retaining its strong emphasis on academic rigour, collaboration and scientific inquiry. Through a series of engaging STEM challenges, students are encouraged to think creatively, work collaboratively and apply their knowledge to solve problems in authentic contexts.
We are proud that our team comprising of Vivien Qi Baowen (310), Elizabeth Lu Yi Rong (311), Zhou Ziqiao (309), and Tan Qinghan (312) successfully qualified for Phase 2 of the competition, placing them among the Top 8 teams. Their achievement reflects their curiosity, teamwork and perseverance as they took on the challenges presented throughout the competition.
Here’s what the Team took away from the experience:
Through NSTEMC, we did not just gain knowledge beyond the syllabus; we also learnt the value of sportsmanship. Despite it being a competition, the environment was warm and welcoming, and the like-minded friends we made along the way were what truly mattered to us in the end. It was an enjoyable experience, and we also gained a deeper appreciation of how STEM can be applied across different industries and for different purposes to benefit society. Another crucial takeaway from this challenge was how much we grew as a team. From introducing ourselves at the start of the season, to eating and chatting together, and eventually representing the school in the various challenges, we learnt how important teamwork is in working towards a common goal and achieving success together.— Vivien Qi Baowen (310), Elizabeth Lu Yi Rong (311), Zhou Ziqiao (309), and Tan Qinghan (312)
