Exploring the possibilities of STEM! π¬π

This week, 28 of our Year 2 and 3 students took part in the 2026 NTU POWERS Primer, part of POWERS (Promotion of Women in Engineering, Research, and Science), an NTU-led initiative that encourages young women to pursue opportunities in STEM.
Supported by Singaporeβs Ministry of Education, NTUβs College of Engineering, College of Science and Graduate College, and driven by the WOMEN@NTU team, POWERS aims to inspire more women to explore and build careers in STEM.
Through immersive tours of research laboratories under NTUβs Colleges of Engineering and Science, our students got a glimpse into ongoing research and discoveries.
They also engaged with NTU professors, postdoctoral researchers and PhD students through live demonstrations and lab walkthroughs, gaining first-hand insights into the exciting possibilities of STEM.
Here's what our students have to share about the initiative:
We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to have visited 4 laboratories in Nanyang Technological University (NTU) today, and to attend the Wo+Men fEST 2026. It was very enriching to hear from so many experienced and professional researchers, and to learn from them. The experience gave us further insights into STEM research at a higher level, and inspired us to be more courageous in exploring more in our own research projects as well - especially as female students. Thank you to our teachers, Mr De Souza, Dr Lim and Ms Quah, as well as everyone in NTU for this opportunity!β Bianca, Chae Won and Gwyneth (Y3)
