RGS' Golden Girls

RGS girls made waves at the 25th SEA Games at Lao, Vientiane, clinching six gold medals for Singapore.​

Year Three student, Goh Jia Yi (309), won the gold medal for the 10-meter air rifle after a shoot-off with Thailand's Chotphibunsin Thanyalak.

Quah Ting Wen, who graduated from RGS in 2008, took in five gold medals for 100-meter freestyle, 200-meter freestyle, 4x100-meter medley relay, 4x200-meter free relay and 800-meter freestyle relay. Quah Ting Wen also won two silvers from the women’s 50m free style and 400-meter individual medley as well as a bronze medal for the 400-meter freestyle competition.​

RGS Named Top Girls' School for Sports for Six Years Running

RGS has been named Top Girls’ School for Sports 2009 by The Straits Times, with our girls garnering nine gold, eight silver and 11 bronze medals at the National Inter-School Competitions. Except for 2003, RGS has clinched this prestigious title every year since its inception in 1995.

RGS Girls Win at AYG

RGS girls made their mark at the recent Asian Youth Games, adding to Singapore’s medal tally of 9 golds, 6 silvers and 15 bronzes. Quah Ting Wen, who completed Year 4 in RGS in 2008, was the darling of the pool, clinching 4 golds in the 50m, 100m, 200m and 4 X 100m freestyle and setting new national records in the first three. Koh Hui Yu (206) was a member of the 4 X 100m team that took the gold. In sailing, Najwa Jumali (308) won the silver in the Bye CII Girls event. The school congratulates them on their splendid achievements. We are equally proud of the other RGS athletes who participated in the AYG, as well as those who helped out as Sports Presenters and Liaison Officers The effort and sacrifice made by every one of them were tremendous and deserve all our admiration, support, and thanks.​
