From 12 to 16 January, the Secondary Three cohort embarked on an exciting learning journey at the Outward Bound Singapore (OBS) centre located on Palau Ubin. First established in Singapore in 1967, OBS offers unique programmes that have helped participants to discover themselves and better understand their own capabilities. Recognising the benefits of experiential learning and the programme’s key objectives of developing character, leadership skills and teamwork, RGS since 1997 has strongly encouraged all medically fit students of the Secondary Three cohort to participate in the programme.
During the 5-day course, the girls engaged in a diverse range of activities that were designed to test their perseverance, stamina, confidence and character. Activities include a high rope course, orienteering, abseiling and kayaking.
Through the course, the girls not only learnt new skills and strengthened their friendships, but also developed qualities such as tenacity and teamwork that would serve them well for the rest of their lives.
