As part of Learning Journey Week 2019, our Year 2 students embarked on one of our signature programmes, the Regional Immersion & Community Exploration (RICE) Programme, from 12-15 March, where they visited different places in Johor Bahru, Malaysia and Singapore (National Museum of Singapore, Asian Civilisation Museum and Peranakan Museum).
During their two-day trip to Johor Bahru, students had the opportunity to visit Desaru Fruit Farm, where they were introduced to the fruit farming business and even got a hands-on experience in vegetable planting. They also visited an Old Folks’ Home to interact with the elderly there. On the second day, students experienced the ‘kampung’ lifestyle when they visited Kampung Sinaran Baru. There, they got to interact with the locals and participate in numerous cultural activities such as food making (Kuih Bahulu, Roti Jala etc.), kite-making and flying, soap-making as well as go on a farm tour.

- A Reflective Disposition: Understand herself, her strengths and her role in a learning community
- A Sense of Citizenship: To feel a sense of belonging to Singapore and to the nation
