Lunar New Year Celebrations 2026
The school ushered in Lunar New Year with a lively celebration as the community came together to welcome the Year of the Horse! The hall was filled with festive cheer as students took to the stage with a vibrant line-up of performances, including dance, singing, a short play and musical pieces featuring traditional Chinese instruments.
Fully adorned in festive wear ranging from the classic cheongsam to varied forms of the ma mian qun (马面裙), or referred to as the horse-faced pleated skirt, students of different ethnicities embrace culture in their own fun ways and expressions of self.
Adding to the excitement were the energetic lion dance performers and the cheerful appearance of the ‘Gods of Fortune’ mascots. Students eagerly gathered around to interact with these mascots through laughter and enthusiasm, creating a truly joyous atmosphere across the hall.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our talented student performers and the Lunar New Year Celebration organising committee for their hard work in putting together such a vibrant showcase!
This year’s celebration was made even more meaningful with the presence of our senior guests from Care Corner Singapore, who joined us to enjoy the performances. Their smiles and applause added warmth to the occasion, and it was heartening to see students and seniors sharing the joy of the festivities together. Moments like these remind us that celebrations are even more special when spent with different generations together.
