Year 1 Orientation Week 2022
A warm welcome to our Year 1s to the RGS family!
Marking the start of their Rafflesian journey, our Year 1s participated in a fun-filled Orientation Week programme from 4-7 January specially planned by their seniors from the Leadership Boards.
Taking into consideration safe management measures to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone, the programme was designed to include activities such as Spirit Ignition sessions where our Year 1s are taught the school song, school cheers and RGS community sons, Peer Support Leaders sessions to help provide our Year 1s with all the necessary guidance and support they need as they make the transition to secondary school, a school tour, CCA Orientation to give them a glimpse of the 36 CCAs we offer, and the Batch Initiation Ceremony, where they are presented their school badges to pin on their pinafores for the very first time and are formally inducted as RGS students.
The week-long programme culminated in the Year 1 Orientation Concert, with each class presenting an original performance based on the orientation theme ‘Deep Roots, Strong Wings’, and the RGS Initiation Ceremony, where the Year 1s are presented to their parents for the first time as full-fledged RGS students.
To the newest members of the RGS family, we hope that through the Orientation Week programme, you have had the opportunity to make new friends, forge bonds with the people you have interacted with, and have started feeling more at home, and most importantly, we hope that you are excited to embark on your very own RGS experience!
